Definition
Cryonics is the practice of preserving the bodies of people who have died in the hope that they can be brought back to life in the future. This is typically done by freezing the body using liquid nitrogen, with the aim of preserving it in a state of suspended animation until medical technology advances to the point where it is possible to revive the person. Cryonics is a controversial and unproven field, and it is not currently possible to revive a frozen human body. However, some people believe that cryonics offers a potential way to extend human life and overcome death.
