Definition
An intentional community is a group of people who have chosen to live together in a shared space and to pursue common goals or values. Intentional communities can be formed for a variety of reasons, such as to promote sustainable living, to practice a particular religious or spiritual belief, or to create a supportive and inclusive social environment. Example Values / Vision
-
We are a community of voluntaryists (advocates of non-political, non-violent strategies to achieve a free society) living freely and peacefully while abiding by the non-aggression principle and natural law.
-
We choose to live together because we value love, connection, fun and the efficiencies that come with living in community.
-
We are committed to improving our minds, our bodies and our spiritual connection.
-
We value an examined life by pursuing the evolution of mind, body and spirit. We practice independent spirituality as we embrace the uniqueness of everyone’s journey.
-
We value natural health remedies, nutrition and natural food sources as well as our community’s self-reliance.
-
We see openness, honest communication, balance, harmony, critical thinking, logic & reason as cornerstones to a life and a community that work.
-
We encourage non-violent communication and radical honesty, and use internal mediation as a means to resolve conflict.
-
Our philosophy starts with the individual and branches out from there to the community as a whole. We never value the collective over the individual.
-
We recognize that people have a need for community and a desire to contribute while benefiting themselves in a real win-win scenario.
-
We see all of this as essential to a balanced, fun, rewarding and fulfilling life.
